Formed in 2010 by Kevin Ritter and Laura Adair; Lacey Eastgate joined in the ownership of Ritter Adair in 2018.
Our wish was to form a smaller, more focused CPA firm to allow us to provide our expertise in Tax, Accounting Services and QuickBooks Consulting.
We saw a need for payroll preparation and financial reporting for smaller businesses within the Bismarck-Mandan community and greater North Dakota.
Creating an atmosphere of a true work/life balance is important to us. Each of our staff members has a personalized work schedule. At Ritter Adair we strive for simplification of bookkeeping and explanation of tax situations for our clients. We work to create streamlined processes, easily followed by ourselves and our clients so we know what to expect from one another. We prioritize cross-training of our staff so that any one of us can take care of a client’s needs, should another staff member be unavailable.
Ritter Adair was founded in 2010 to be a small CPA firm, focused on excellent service for small business and individual clients while creating an atmosphere of belonging and balance for our staff.
We strive to be less intimidating, more approachable and available to our clients.We dig in and learn your processes and continually search for efficiencies in your accounting/bookkeeping system. Who We Are
Kevin R. Ritter, CPA
Kevin specializes in business and individual taxation and planning, financial statement preparation and QuickBooks consulting services. He has been a QuickBooks ProAdvisor since 2004 and is also a member of the North Dakota Society of CPAs and the AICPA.
When Kevin is not in the office, you can find him at his farm tinkering with “farm” projects and inventing gadgets to better “get the job done.” He is always building some project and is always willing to go the extra mile for anyone who might need a hand. Kevin offers his time and resources any time a friend, colleague or acquaintance expresses a need. His love for his dogs and hunting provides us with countless stories around the lunch table. Kevin has been a member of Pheasants Forever and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation for many years, serving on the boards of both. Kevin and his wife Becky have two grown daughters.
Laura G. Adair, CPA
Laura works with individuals and business clients as well as estates and trusts and not-for-profit tax returns. She is experienced in payroll, reporting and compliance issues, QuickBooks consulting, tax planning and tax preparation for a wide variety of individuals and industry types.
Laura has been actively involved with the North Dakota CPA Society for many years by serving on the Tax and Continuing Education committees. She is currently a member of the North Dakota State Board of Accountancy.
Always striving for a work/life balance, she tries to travel as much as possible with her family. Cooking, reading, gardening and working in the dirt are some of her favorite pastimes. Creative outlets are important to her such as painting and photography. She loves active adventures like para-gliding, hiking, snorkeling and rappelling when on vacation with her husband and grown daughter and son.
Lacey R. Eastgate, CPA
Lacey specializes in providing outsourced accounting and tax preparation services to businesses and individuals. She is experienced in payroll, reporting and compliance issues, QuickBooks consulting, tax planning and tax preparation for a wide variety of industry types. Lacey believes to provide exceptional service she must reflect the saying, “Before a client cares what you know, they want to know that you care.” If you work with Lacey, you can expect a partner that is approachable, responsive, and willing to work hard to get results. Lacey is a member of the North Dakota CPA Society and the AICPA.
Lacey is passionate about youth in the Bismarck-Mandan community. She serves as a committee member and supporter of Bismarck-Mandan Young Life and the work they do reaching all kinds of kids in positive ways through mentorship and faith-based relational ministry. She enjoys running with her golden retriever Lulu, but her most favorite past-times are singing, dancing and spending time with her husband and three sons.
Karen Stenehjem, CPA
Karen specializes in tax preparation for individuals and businesses, out-sourced accounting and preparation of financial statements. She is experienced in payroll, reporting and compliance issues, QuickBooks consulting, tax planning and tax preparation for a wide variety of industry types. She enjoys helping clients understand their books and tax situations by explaining concepts in easy to understand lingo. Karen is good at simplifying complicated accounting scenarios for streamlined input and reporting. She places a high priority on accuracy and client satisfaction. She is a member of the North Dakota State CPA Society and AICPA.
Karen has many interests and activities outside the office, perhaps her biggest is her penchant for travel. She enjoys visiting new places and especially loves the beach: sand in her toes and ocean breeze through her hair. She is creative and talented in her attention to detail and enjoys working on home projects whenever she can. While she enjoys traveling and new experiences, she is just as happy to stay at home with a warm cup of coffee reading the newspaper on a lazy weekend morning..
Sarah Kuntz, CPA
Tonda works in accounting and bookkeeping. She has more than 20 years of accounting and payroll services experience. In her spare time she enjoys traveling with her husband, hiking, yoga, kayaking and spending time with their three grown children.
Missy works in accounting and bookkeeping. She has over nine years of experience in administrative services, training, payroll and bookkeeping. Missy has been a volunteer board member for Dakota Women’s Retreat since 2013. In her spare time she enjoys painting, cake decorating and singing loudly in the car. Missy and her husband have three children, two dogs, and one turtle.
Britt is a graduate from the University of North Dakota with a degree in communications. Britt has experience in administrative services, customer service and management. She loves to surround herself with her family, friends and fiancé. Britt is always planning the next adventure with new experiences. In her spare time, she enjoys riding bike, being outside and traveling.
